Legislative Efforts
The Ohio National Guard Enlisted Association (ONGEA) is a 501c(19) non-profit, all volunteer organization that works for the betterment of the enlisted airmen and soldiers in the Ohio National Guard. We work to promote legislation and support programs that are beneficial to our Ohio Guard members alongside the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS).
ONGEA board members engage with Guard leadership and legislators to advocate for rights and benefits for ONG members. As the saying goes, “if you are not at the table, you are on the menu!” Previous ONGEA/EANGUS accomplishments include:
- 100% Funded Ohio National Guard Scholarship Program
- Military retirement free from Ohio state taxes
- Early retirement with active-duty tour
- TRICARE Reserve Select Benefits
- Chief NGB added to Joint Chiefs of Staff
- Post 9-11 Education Benefits for AGRs
- Veteran status for NG 20-year retirees
