Scholarship Application 2019-20
The ONGEA and ONGEA Auxiliary will award a maximum
of 10 scholarships valued at $1,000 each for the
2019-20 academic year. In addition, the Coach Tucker
Scholarship will be awarded for the first time, with two
$3,000 scholarships available – reserved for one Air
and one Army member of the Ohio National Guard.
The Scholarship Committee will award scholarship
grants as approved by the ONGEA Executive Board. Applicants
must be enrolled at a college, university, trade
or business school in order to receive funds. Alternates
will also be designated to cover the possibility that the
primary recipient does not actually enroll and matriculate
for the school term. Graduate students are only
eligible for the Coach Tucker Scholarship, if applicants
meet other eligibility requirements.
There shall be no consideration whatsoever given
because of rank or grade of applicant or applicant’s parents. Grants will be awarded on the basis of scholarship,
character, leadership and need.
ONGEA Scholarships are a one-time award. Previous
winners are not eligible to apply. If the school
term is not completed due to causes other than illness
or physical injury, the student will refund the scholarship
award. Please read the scholarship material and
complete the application in full.
Grants will be presented to scholarship recipients at
the annual ONGEA Awards Banquet, and winners are
strongly encouraged to attend.
These scholarships are made possible by generous
donations from the First Cleveland Cavalry-Norton
Memorial Fund, United States Automobile Association
(USAA), and Tuck’s Guys Foundation, as well as an annual
budgetary commitment from the ONGEA Executive
Board.
